Shake Shack and Chef Nyesha Arrington Collaborate On Limited Edition Menu For One-Day-Only At West Hollywood Location
Shake Shack is teaming up with Los Angeles Chef Nyesha Arrington, former Top Chef contestant and restaurateur, for a one-day-only menu at the Shake Shack in West Hollywood, Los Angeles. Shake Shack’s Culinary Director Mark Rosati and Chef Nyesha are excited to bring a limited-time delectable burger and fry pairing to all their fans.
We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Chef Nyesha Arrington on this one-day collaboration at our West Hollywood Shack, bringing together the very best of her culinary vision and style, along with our roadside-inspired fare. Shake Shack is committed to serving elevated, thoughtful food made with premium ingredients, and we worked very closely with Chef Nyesha to develop these menu items that are for a good cause. We hope our Shack fans in the LA area enjoy this one as much as we do!
-Mark Rosati, Creative Director
The collaboration has been in development since 2020 and will feature an Aisoon Burger and Kombu-scented Fries. Named after and inspired by Nyesha’s grandmother, the Aisoon Burger features a single beef patty topped with braised oxtail marmalade, griddled onions, cheese and Kewpie mayo. The burger pairs well with the menu’s Kombu-scented Fries featuring Shake Shack’s classic crinkle-cut fries dusted with nori sea salt and served with whipped kombu butter, an edible kelp rich in umami flavor. The Kombu-scented Fries are inspired by Chef Nyesha’s Kombu-scented potatoes, a popular menu item at her restaurant in Santa Monica. Chef Nyesha credits her grandmother Aisoon as a cooking inspiration growing up and wanted to pay tribute with a namesake burger and fries that celebrate her heritage.
My cooking style has always been riffable, bringing global flavors and techniques from around the world to reimagine traditional dishes, so I’m excited to have this opportunity with a fan-favorite restaurant like Shake Shack. This collaboration is especially close to my heart as it pays homage to some of my favorite ingredients from cooking in my Grandma’s kitchen while also supporting the next generation of young Black girls in our communities.
-Nyesha Arrington, Chef & Restaurateur
All net proceeds from the collaboration will be donated to Chef Nyesha’s non-profit, The Collective Identity, which invests in young Black girls and women to help them identify themselves and define their paths in life.
