DesignerCon, the largest toy and collectible event in the US, is back, bringing exclusive drops and more to fans live and in-person, following a year of virtual programming! As the first event to return to the Anaheim Convention Center after over a year of halted conventions, DesignerCon 2021 is already generating quite the buzz, but, ever thinking of their loyal attendees, they have gone above and beyond to ensure this year’s event is a well-received homecoming.

As expected, this year will be full of exclusive releases including those from Pop Mart, DKE Toys, MONDO, MightyJaxx, and so many more! 3DRetro will be bringing the vinyl Vultura Macabra by fan-favorite Camille Rose Garcia, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. As the only US show to host MEDICOM, DesignerCon is thrilled to announce the 2021 Artist Series BE@RBRICK pack featuring Junko Mizuno, Tara McPherson, Aaron Kai, Sket One, and Brian Viveros. Also in the works and soon to hit the convention floor, there will be a VIP Only BE@RBRICK designed by Scott Tolleson. The BE@RBRICK love continues with Lyrical Lemonade, Louis De Guzman, and Greg Mike. That’s not all from Superstar artist Greg Mike, who takes his place at the helm as this year’s featured artist. Mike designed all 8 collectible badges for 2021, taking the experience to a whole new level from the very second attendees don their credentials.

DesignerCon and Popshop Live will continue their relationship from the convention floor this year. Popshop Live, an official partner of the show, will be showing off their technology to current and future collectors, demonstrating a new way to purchase exclusives.

The collectible revolution doesn’t stop there. In an effort to bring the most current and exciting experience to consumers, DCon has partnered with New Zealand-based non-fungible token (NFT) digital collectible app VeVe to dive headfirst into the world of NFTs! VeVe has put together a series of DesignerCon exclusives limited-edition digital collectibles from DesignerCon all-star artists, IPs, and brands. VeVe has curated both their own releases featuring pop culture favorites and DesignerCon exclusive drops with Tristan Eaton, Tara McPherson, Camille Rose Garcia, and brands like XLARGE and Mighty Jaxx! Collectors can expect limited drop blind boxes for prices starting at $13 USD, featuring randomized 3D models of various 3D toy series’ curated by VeVe founder David Yu.

The tech excitement and advancement continues, with Eyejack App’s Prosthetic Reality Volume 2. The AR company will bring together over 60 artists, animators and sound designers from around the planet to showcase Augmented Reality (AR) NFT Art. It’s the first book of its kind to combine AR, the blockchain, and traditional art, serving as a historical document to capture this moment in time and showcases a collective of artists at the forefront of art in the Metaverse.

With a varied and exciting slate of programming, the DCon Stage is also back for 2021.Ticket holders can expect panels with talent from Sony Pictures Animation, NFT expertise from VeVe, and a live set from DJ Jeremy Sole during the VIP party. Look out for details on a live art competition sponsored by Sony Pictures Animation on Saturday, putting their story artists up against DCon’s friends from Lincoln Design Co. The audience will have live input on the artwork, and sponsor Xencelabs will be giving away a free tablet during the show. In order to host this incredible event in-person and bring the community back together in a safe and conscious way, founder Ben Goretsky and the DesignerCon team have been working closely with the Anaheim Convention Center.
