KCRW Celebrates Season 3 Of Their Critically Acclaimed Podcast "Bodies" With A Special Park Hang At The Rio De Los Angeles State Park On Sunday November 7th

KCRW’s critically-acclaimed podcast  Bodies is back for Season 3 with a diverse range of stories about accepting differences in our bodies and engaging in the critical thinking process that aids in resisting the social pressures to conform. What better way to celebrate this theme than dancing it out together to empower all of our bodies?!

Join KCRW and EVERYBODY Gym on Sunday, November 7th at Rio de Los Angeles State Park from 12pm-4pm with a ballroom-inspired dance workout, yoga, and a Latinx dance style movement class rooted in playfulness. RSVP here!

The event will also include food trucks and a tent of experts with hot tips on how to keep your body and mind feeling good. Plan to unwind on a Sunday afternoon by leaving it all out on the grass dance floor!

If you’re not in LA or don’t care to leave the house –no problem! Join us on Zoom at any point to participate from wherever you are via our park cam that we will have pointed at the stage all day long.

LEGENDARY with LUX will have you catwalkin’ like Naomi and feeling your FIERCE self. Taking cues from Vogue/Ballroom, Jazz, Hip Hop, hell even some Ballet and Tap Lux is gonna get your body movin’ and you gonna leave ready to SLAY.

About Lux LaCroix (she/her) is an award winning burlesque performer, professional dancer, choreographer, performance artist and documentary filmmaker. You can find her dancing, talking and doing her thang on stages, tables, and an occasional parking lot pretty much every night of the week.

Zumba Con Camila A heart-healing, laughter-filled, one-of-a-kind class held by the Trans Femme Badass Camila Camaleón. In this half hour of locaness, we will flow through choreography to Latinx dance music to shake, wake, and embolden our bodies to embrace the dance floor as a site of healing. With EVERY class starting with a special intention, you won’t want to miss out on the two mindful breaths before and after class.

About Camila Camaleón Certified in Zumba™ Rhythms 1, Rhythms 2, STEP, and STRONG Nation – Camila Camaleón (she/her) integrates her 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusive twist to this classic dance experience.  With Zumba, she integrates a dialogue around body positivity and heart-healing that comes from an understanding that movement can be playful, accessible, and powerful for all.

RISE With Jessica Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or have never stepped foot on a mat, this is a class to focus on basic postures and breath and is suitable for all bodies and levels. During this class, you will learn how to slow down and adapt asana to meet the body you’re in today.

About Jessica Rihal (she/her) is a Plus Size Yoga Instructor and a strong advocate of fitness and wellness for all bodies. Jessica believes that all bodies can be and deserve to be celebrated through movement and enjoys doing so by teaching students how to adapt yoga to the body – the body you’re in today with no end goal.
